Big Summer Bream

What an incredible day it was! I set out to one of the most picturesque lakes in Leitrim for some bream fishing, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Before hitting the water, I did some prebaiting with pellets and a soaked mix I got from Just Bait. I have to say, this stuff is fantastic! I’ve had immense success using their products this year, and today was no exception. From the moment I cast my lines, it was clear that the fish were hungry and ready for action.

The day turned into a bream bonanza! I managed to hook around 30 bream, with some beauties weighing in at up to 8 pounds. The tench were equally impressive, with the biggest tipping the scales at 6.3 pounds. I’ve found worms to be my best bait lately, and today they truly outdid themselves. If you’re heading out for a day of angling, don’t overlook good old worms – they can make all the difference!

Despite the bream and tench keeping me busy, I did have a few run-ins with some pesky pike. They were relentless at times, trying to steal my catch right off the line. But what’s a fishing trip without a little excitement?

All in all, it was a day filled with action, stunning scenery, and, of course, plenty of fish! If you’re looking for a fishing adventure, I can’t recommend Leitrim enough – it truly is a wild and beautiful spot. I’m already excited about my next trip and know I’ll be back for more!
